Frequently Asked Questions

How can I renew my ICBC insurance?

We are currently able to renew ICBC policies over the phone as long as you will be paying by credit card, or using ICBC’s  monthly payment plan.

 

What information should I have with me when I call?

You will need:

  • Your Driver’s License
  • Easy access to e-mail
  • A credit card for payment or;
  • If you plan to switch to monthly pay, you will need a scanned void cheque or pre-authorized debit form to email
  • If you are looking to receive a discount on next year’s renewal for driving less that 5000km, we will need a recent picture of your odometer emailed to us
How will I sign the documents?

During this time, you must consent to use an electronic signature service. A broker will send the documentation to your email address and the document will be automatically returned to the broker once you have signed electronically. Click here for how to use Adobe sign.

What other transactions can I complete with you?

What if I don’t have access to email?

ICBC is allowing clients to use the email address of a friend or relative, but you must have access to this account during the phone call. If you are unable to access email, you will need to contact ICBC directly at 1-800-663-3051.

I’ve called your office and I can’t get through—what should I do?

Our offices are currently receiving a much higher call volume than normal and, due to the new procedures, each transaction is taking longer than normal. However, if you leave your name, number, expiry date, and plate number on our voicemail our team will call you back as soon as they are able to. Alternatively, you can email that same information to info@harbordinsurance.com and a broker will call you back.

What if I need to cancel my insurance?

We are able to process cancellations over the phone also. You will require all the same information as needed to renew.  You will also be required to bring in both your licence plates and the non-registration portion of your insurance documents. We are currently accepting drop off of those items at our Cloverdale location mail slot or you can bring the items in when we are able to reopen our offices to the public.

What if I have another type of transaction to complete? For example, I am buying a new vehicle.
