Frequently Asked Questions

You will need:

  • Your Driver’s License
  • Easy access to e-mail
  • A credit card for payment or;
  • If you plan to switch to monthly payments, you will need a scanned void cheque or pre-authorized debit form to e-mail.
  • If you want to receive a discount on next year’s renewal for driving less than 10,000 km (for renewals after June 1st), we need a recent picture of your odometer e-mailed.

During this time, you must consent to receive personal information, insurance forms, and, if applicable, banking information by email. This consent will work in lieu of a standard signature.

Most transactions can be completed by phone, but you will need to visit one of our offices to complete the following transactions:

  • Cancellations
  • Transfer of a vehicle
  • Out of Province Registration
  • Estate Transfer
  • Any transaction that requires a New Plate
  • Changes lowering coverage, moving from ICBC to Private Auto, or removing a driver on policies in joint names.

We can renew the policy, add coverage, add a driver, and change the address (if it is in the same territory) with one individual on the phone.

Please Note:

  • If the vehicle is in joint names, and you’re moving from ICBC to Private Auto – both parties must be present in office.
  • If you would like to lower the coverage or remove drivers – both parties must be present in office.

We cannot process cancellations over the phone and will require all the same information as needed to renew. You may also be required to bring your license plates and the non-registration portion of your insurance documents.

As of May 1st, 2022, B.C. vehicles no longer require decals.

If you are completing one of the few transactions that require a visit to the office, our three locations are now open for walk-ins from 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday through Friday and 9:00am – 5:00pm on Saturday. We greatly value your business!
