We are finally just weeks away from summer… which means it’s just about time to dust off all that camping (or glamping) gear and get out there!
Whether in an RV, pop-up camper, camper van, or even tent, this checklist is an excellent guide to the must-dos before getting on the road. It’s better to find and deal with any issues before, not during, your trip. The last thing you want to do is get to your destination to find out that a mouse has made a home in your tent or the faucets in your RV are leaking!
RV Summer Ready Checklist:
1. First things first, give it a good wash on the outside
And while you’re at it, you could wash the RV cover before putting it away for the summer. Your future self will thank you when it’s time to put it back on.
2. Leave the doors and windows open to air it out
It’s probably a bit stuffy after sitting all winter!
3. Check your tires!
They might need to be rotated, cleaned, topped up with air, etc.
4. Flush out your water system with fresh water
If you use an anti-freeze during the winter, you will want to flush out the system until the water is clear.
5. Check all taps and faucets for leaks
6. Check your batteries
Remember to wear your protective gear and have the power off. Replace any batteries if needed.
7. Check propane tanks
Replace if needed, or top them up!
8. Give it a good clean on the inside
Clean cupboards and the fridge, give it a good vacuum, and toss out anything you accidentally left in there from last summer. This will also allow you to check for mildew or any unexpected rodent visitors.
9. Stock up with everything you need for a safe, fun, and comfortable camping trip!
Make sure you have everything you need, including a first aid kit, cozy blankets, and all your favorite camping snacks!!
